Volunteering Opportunities

Youth Action

Youth Action is a project for young people aged 13-18 living in Central Bedfordshire. By volunteering for just 10 hours (over however many sessions you like) and logging the hours online you can gain a nationally recognised accreditation. This means you can list it on CVs, job application, UCAS applications etc.

There are various opportunities with local and national organisations to provide you with unique and rewarding volunteering opportunities. There is the chance to volunteer at local events, in conservation work, sports and much more! All of these are fun and free (lunch and snacks are often included too!) See below for the current opportunities.

Volunteering has so many benefits - improve your skills preparing you for further education or employment, it raises self-esteem and confidence and is a great chance to meet new people. Start now!

Funding Opportunities for Youth Projects

Think Big - Small Funds for Local Projects by Young People

Think Big is a new funding scheme from mobile phone firm O2, developed in conjunction with youth charities National Youth Agency and UK Youth. It gives 13 to 25-year-olds the chance to apply for a £300 grant to fund projects aimed at addressing local issues identified by the young people themselves. Website: www.o2thinkbig.co.uk.
